What is McTimoney Therapy?
Animals, just like humans, can suffer back, neck and muscular injuries from trips, falls, bumps and confirmation defects, causing loss of mobility, pain, stiffness, lack of performance or even behavioural changes. Animals, just like humans, can benefit from remedial therapies.
McTimoney treatment is a non-invasive physical therapy that affects the whole body. It is a relatively gentle treatment, but it can have a profound effect.
McTimoney treatment involves gentle manipulation using chiropractic techniques to realign and balance the animal’s musculoskeletal system.
McTimoney treatment focuses on the musculoskeletal system, especially the spine and pelvis, and its interrelationship with the nervous system. The result of the treatment is to restore flexibility to the skeletal frame by realigning any misalignments in the spinal column and pelvis, and release surrounding muscle spasms.
The treatment was developed from the McTimoney human chiropractic technique, and can be as effective not only for horses and dogs, but also a wide range of other animals.
McTimoney practitioners use only their hands for analysis and treatment, and very precise and rapid adjustments are used to correct the misalignment and reduce any muscle spasm.
